Glucosamine Sulphate N031 (Capsules)

What is Glucosamine Sulphate? Glucosamine is essential for maintaining cartilage, the smooth tissue lining of joints. It is formed from a reaction of glucose with the amino acid glutamine. Much of the Glucosamine used in the body is associated with sulphur in the form of sulphate. Glucosamine Sulphate therefore bears a strong resemblance to closely related materials naturally occurring in the body. Why do we need it? Excess wear and tear on a joint creates the need for repair. If the body chemistry is out of balance it may mean that the body cannot make enough glucosamine. Glucosamine Sulphate helps to form a component of cartilage called Proteoglycan, a tough resilient structural material that acts like a cushion at the bone ends. If we do not form enough proteoglycan, the cartilage erodes more easily. Glucosamine Sulphate may help to maintain joint mobility. Best Natural Sources There are no edible sources of Glucosamine Sulphate - bound forms do occur in cartilage but in meat this is gristle and we tend not to eat it. Our Glucosamine is derived from the shells of shell fish from far Eastern waters.
